McDonald is Loving it! Race 2 at Merrittville Speedway

THOROLD –
Monday night, May 19th, marked the second race of the season for the Vanderlaan Building Products Northeast Late Model Alliance, and Cornwall’s Brian McDonald took the checkered flag.
McDonald was the last man standing after a chaotic and controversial night at Merrittville Speedway.
Brady Wonderling led the entire race before he was docked two spots for jumping a restart after the officials issued several warnings.
Wonderling was able to hold off McDonald and Charlie Sandercock who both looked poised to take the lead at different points, but was able to pull away after a couple of laps. McDonald inherited the lead with only a couple of laps remaining and was able to hold off Wonderling to take the checkers.
It was a caution-filled race, where only a handful of drivers were without incident.
Through it all, Brandon Mowatt and Jonah Mutton were both able to climb seven spots to finish 4th and 5th respectively.
Next up for the NLMA is Friday June 13th when the series will cross the border and head to Ransomville Speedway.
